Independent Measurement & Verification for Buyers

Helping you to deliver successful energy saving schemes through expert advice and IPMVP-quality savings analysis and verification services.

Understand your project’s real-world energy saving performance

Our independent Measurement & Verification (M&V) services are widely used by organisations keen to access trusted energy saving figures and to ensure suppliers are held to account for their performance claims.

What is M&V?

Measurement & Verification (M&V) is a key part of any energy efficiency investment. It is the process used to calculate and report the savings achieved by that investment.

To avoid conflicts of interest, independent verification of supplier claims is industry good practice and particularly important to ensure trust in savings claims and avoid dispute.

This essential document sets out how the savings attributable to your project will be calculated and reported once installed.

EEVS will ensure your M&V Plan is robust and adheres to global best practice standard, IPMVP. See our FAQs to learn more.

Baseline Models

A key part of of M&V planning stage is the development of high quality Baseline Models which provide the critical ‘do nothing’ reference point for determining how much energy you would have used if the energy saving project hadn’t happened. Given the expertise required, Baseline Models should be developed by accredited M&V professionals (e.g. PMVA, PMVE or CMVP).

Savings Analysis & Reporting

Once your scheme has been installed or is underway, we’ll implement the M&V Plan and carry out the performance analytics needed to determine how much energy it is saving. We’ll then write up the results and present it to your project team.

Supplier Claim Verification

With significant commercial interests at stake, independent verification of supplier saving claims is simple good practice.

Our verification processes will ensure your suppliers savings claims are correctly calculated and reported in accordance with IPMVP standards.
